Today we bring the "Mince Pies", a British tradition dating back to the 18th century, which are a classic on the Christmas table of any house in England. Mince Pies, were originally filled with meat, such as lamb, rather than a dried fruit mix as they are today. They were also first made in an oval shape to represent the manger that Jesus slept in as a baby, with the top representing his swaddling clothes. Now is a sweet pie just filled with a mixture of dried fruits and spices!
